2025.02.21 Informal & 2025.02.26 Formal Meeting for Progress Checking

Abstract:
This meeting reviewed feedback on the interim report, discussed task reassignment due to team member absence, and addressed technical obstacles in try-on implementation. StableVITON and PromptDresser issues were evaluated, and strategies for completion and optimization before the March deadline were confirmed.

Participants:

• Attendance: Qian Zhang (Supervisor), Zhihao Cao, Zixin Ding, Peini She, Jinghao Liu
• Apologies of Absentee: Changhao Huang (cannot be contacted)
• Chairperson and Secretary: Zixin Ding

Main Points and Decisions:

• Supervisor's feedback on the interim report was collected; formatting and clarity issues need to be improved.
• Changhao Huang could not be contacted. His tasks on login and recommendation modules were reassigned:
  • Recommendation: Reassigned to Zihan Zhou and Jinghao Liu.
  • Login Module: Reassigned to Zixin Ding.
• Try-on Issues:
  • StableVITON can only generate tops due to dataset training focus on upper-body features.
  • Human parsing often excludes bottoms, merging them with the background.
  • PromptDresser generation is extremely slow and results in black images due to:
    • Insufficient local machine specs (RAM/GPU)
    • CUDA/library incompatibility
    • Large model size
  • Consider using common mannequin images for faster testing instead of personal user photos.
• Supervisor agreed that dataset submission in MySQL database format is sufficient; no CSV export required.
• Recommended contacting Dave, TA, or lab technician for testing models on lab computers or requesting a compatible workstation.
• Try-on rendering performance cannot be guaranteed; the flexibility in evaluation criteria due to complexity.
• Next steps:
  • All members must finish module implementation and start integration/testing by next Wednesday.
  • Supervisor may schedule regular formal meetings based on progress.

Action Points:

• Apply for a rental server or lab PC with GPU support for StableVITON/PromptDresser testing.
• Improve formatting and structure of the final report.
• Zhou, Liu: Responsible for recommendation module development.
• Ding: Takes over login module development.
• Generate 200–300 virtual try-on images (each member to process their own).
• Complete debugging and testing by March 20, 2025.
